The Islamic Center of Boise (ICB) is a place of worship and a place to hold events for the Muslims of Boise and the surrounding area; all others are more than welcome to come and join us or sit back and observe our community. We have a vast community of Muslims from all over the world that come to the Islamic Center of Boise for worship and other activities. The ICB holds five daily prayers (Salah) seven days a week, the Friday congregational prayer (Jumu’ah), the night (Taraweeh) prayers during the month of Ramadhan; and the two Eid Holiday prayers. ICB also conducts various educational activities for children and adults... Hope to see you at the ICB soon. In sha’ Allah!
History
In 1955, the first Muslim arrived in Boise Idaho. By 1982, 15-20 people were regularly attending Jumu’ah prayers and today, by the grace of Allah, some 200+ attend Jumu’ah prayers at the Islamic Center. During Eid services over 1,000 people attend services. Approximately 95% of Muslims in the greater Boise area are immigrants (mostly refugees). Various waves of immigrants from countries such as Bosnia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Sudan, Congo, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, Syria, etc. have made Boise their home in recent years. The Muslim population in the greater Boise area may be well over 10,000 as of 2013. This includes natives, immigrants, refugees, exchange students, etc.
